Great jacket

Got this as present for my husband’s birthday. Big success. Very functional but unlike many such jackets this one looks a lot smarter. Very expensive but so far seems worth it although hasn’t been tested in any extreme conditions.

Great jacket, just not right for me

I have sent this back, reluctantly. Its a really nice jacket but unfortunately the cut didn't quite work for me.

Excellent Jacket

This is a great jacket. It has not been fully tested as a waterproof yet but it certainly keeps the wind and damp out. Breathable for walking and smart enough for watching sports and you keep cosy. Plenty of pockets, the hood securely does up and is comfortable. Nice colour.

Fantastic coat, waterproof and snug in windy conditions. Lightweight with good sized pockets. Use it daily to walk dog, brilliant!

A good lightweight walking jacket

The Borealis seems a great jacket if you're after something fairly light to wear on walks etc., and it's really nice if you compare it with products from "active" brands of the sort who normally sell walking kit. The colours are good, and from previous experience of Finisterre I'd say the waterproofing will be top-notch.

In my case I was after something a bit more substantial to wear as a general warm winter coat, and I was expecting the Borealis to be more like a parka and less like a waterproof. It's not particularly warm and is quite "technical" feeling and lightweight, so if you are used to wearing coats made of wool or waxed cotton it does feel a bit flimsy. If you have that in mind though and know what you're getting then you can't go far wrong with it, because it does seem to be a great piece of kit.
