Exactly what you’d expect…
The very first Finisterre garment I bought, about 15 years ago, was their gilet. Time for a new one…. Oh but this one is soooo much warmer and great quality. Exactly what I’ve come to expect from Finisterre.

Arrived promptly. My husband was chuffed with his birthday present
Bought as a replacement for an older , and much loved earlier version (green) that I finally wore out after year of use. While the new one is still a quality item - I prefer the old one for a number of reasons.
The new one is much bulkier and "puffier" - while the old one while still warm was much sleeker.
The old one had contrast colour inside and by zip and hems - looks much nicer than the new one which is just one colour all over.
The new one has broader stitching - which maybe is why it feels puffier.
The new one's side pockets are too small to be of any use - even too small to keep hands warm.
The New one does have a chest zip pocket which is a great addition.
The old one was made in Portugal - the new one I think China - a retrograde step.
why change a classic? profit margins?
My son wanted a really specific style to replace the one he had grown out of. This met all his criteria and is very well made. Love the recycled fabric.
Bought this for my partner! A gilet guru! He loves it, warm without too much bulk. Great colour and robustly made.
