It's better when it's wetter. Using the same high performance waterproof fabric as our Rainbird jackets, the unisex NHM Poncho is designed to handle the worst the weather can throw your way, but that's not all. As well as a large front pouch pocket to keep your valuables safe, the poncho has 6 handy loops which allow it to be pinned down as a tarp - perfect for setting up temporary shelter when out adventuring or battening down the hatches while sat watching the waves from the cliffs.

Part of the NHM + Finisterre collection celebrating the resilience of nature and a shared passion to protect the natural world, the poncho features beautiful cyanotype images of British Algae by pioneering photographer and botanist Anna Atkins.

A Photographic Pioneer

Our exclusive print design from the Natural History Museum features a Cyanotype, also known as “blue print” - one of the first ways of making a photographic image. English botanist and photographer, Anna Atkins (1799-1871) captured beautiful cyanotype prints of British algae and is credited as the first person ever to illustrate a book using photographic images.

Unisex Adventure Poncho

A great design for a functional rain poncho. The print is so original in blue. The front pouch very handy . The only improvement I would make is to reinforce the corners with strong taping in case the corners rip when stretched or under pressure from rain force. The matching hat is brilliant. Just wish the demo video was still up on the website.

Amazing pattern, love the poncho

This is a really lovely fabric for a poncho, doesn't feel like you're wearing a 'plastic bag'.

It would have been great if it was slightly wider, so that the arm coverage extends further towards the wrists, rather than feeling like a 3/4 sleeve... especially since its purpose is to stop the rain. A slight neck opening at the collar with button/velcro/ one button/ quick fastening would allow easier 'drop' of the poncho when putting it on.

Overall design and the extra tabs are useful, I've used them to attach to my hands/handlebars when I've had to ride my bike during downpours.

Unisex Adventure Poncho

I saw this Poncho in a weekend newspaper supplement and liked the design nd colour immediately. I didn’t need a new raincoat as I have a good rubber one, but thought it would be good for the summer as it is very lightweight and packs away conveniently. I was shocked at how expensive it is, but despite this, I decided to buy it anyway, because iit’s a step on the way to reducing , and eventually banning the manufacture of new plastics. It is a lovely, lightweight well made rain poncho, and I like it very much. Hopefully, in time, the recycling process will become more affordable, otherwise it’s going to take too long to stop plastics from destroying the planet and all of it’s wonderful species.
