The difference between cold or warm
I love being out in the elements. I adore fluctuations in the weather day to day hour to hour. My passion for open water / river / swimming means that I am often stood undressing on a dank cold water bank before edging myself closer to the water for a swim. Swans in the distance, a Kingfisher darts by. The sun might be out - it might be raining - a bit or really hard.
When I get out of the water I want to put on something I can rely on helping me regain and keep body heat. As my skin is sensitive after being in sub 10 degree water for a reasonably long swim - I also want a garment that feels soft. I want to enjoy my experiences with the natural world. This is where the Pali Base Layer makes the difference between staying cold or getting warm. Just as my body acclimatises to the cold water - the Pali Base Layer helps my body gradually warm up. I don't overheat or get sweaty. I just regain normal body heat. The garment allows me to move and works with me to enjoy the outdoors. It is a vital piece of clothing for my purpose outlined here - but also as a layer for keeping warm as temperatures drop - in normal every day - as well as in outdoor pursuits.
