Behind the Scenes of our Latest Shoot

To document the newness of our newest collection we embarked on a voyage of (re)discovery in our Cornish heartland. On trails less trodden, in secret swim spots and empty lineups we chased the light of summer, with friends and Fini crew in tow.

Here’s ambassador Mike Lay take on the experience…

Cornwall is the land of saints and secrets, headlands and coves. To live in Cornwall is to know where to go to meet wind head on and watch it skud by. On our latest shoot this weather dance danced, wind on one hand, rain on the other.

We ducked and weaved, best laid plans flapping in the northerly breeze. Porthoustock, Cadgwith, Kennack, Praa, rain fronts blew overhead, hurried as skimmed pebbles. We dipped into crab shop cafes and emerged after the rain passed into a freshly washed world, sunny and petrichor-warm.

A highlight of the adventure was surfing tiny waves at Praa Sands. The act of surfing is a miracle in itself but even more so when the waves had come from the windswept North Coast and wrapped all the way round to the south. On this day, they giddily tumbled, revelling in the unlikeliness of their existence, and we chased the light…

“Chase the light.
