The DWR coating on your jacket will wear over time, while dirt and grime impede your jacket’s waterproofness. Wash your jacket in a gentle cycle, at a low temperature, avoiding fabric softeners or harsh detergents, and line or tumble dry.Finisterre offers a full service and re-waterproofing through our Lived and Loved program and sell technical washes and re-proofing treatments so you can wash and reproof your jackets at home.

Q: How do I know when to replace my waterproof jacket?

At Finisterre we build our jackets tough so that they last for longer. But when they do start showing signs of wear we provide repair and re-waterproofing services, further extending the useful lives of your outerwear. But a hard life in the outdoors will eventually wear out even the best built jacket, so replace when the waterproof membrane delaminates, taped seams fail and can’t be repaired and the fabric tears beyond patching.
