After three years of using our Blue Friday initiative to increase ocean access through the Finisterre Foundation, last year we decided to use the biggest shopping weekend of the year to take more direct action for the sea.
Urging our community to help “Keep the ocean blue on black Friday”, we partnered with charities Surfers Against Sewage in the UK and Surfrider foundation in the US, Canada and Europe to donate £2 / $2.50 from every order we received to their ocean conservation efforts.
Over the course of the Blue Friday weekend, we were proud to raise £15,104 for Surfers Against Sewage and $1,507.50 for Surfrider Foundation.
"Our partnership with Finisterre is hued from granite in the walls we share at our Cornish HQ in Wheal Kittty, and in our mutual passion for positive disruption for the ocean. We surf and swim in the same waters and have worked together to protect them since 2003. When brands like ours align, powerful change can happen."
