A connection to the sea can bring untold mental and physical health benefits, but for some there are barriers to accessing those benefits. To change that, in August 2021 we launched the Finisterre Foundation CIC.

The Finisterre Foundation CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, dedicated to removing barriers and ensuring everyone can experience the transformative power of the sea.
As the Foundation’s main funder, Finisterre UK Limited donated over £15,000 in cash and £8,000 in stock in 2024 – helping to make the ocean more accessible to all.
The Wetsuit Project
Finisterre donates 3% of every surf-specific wetsuit sale to the Finisterre Foundation’s Adaptive Wetsuit Project, helping people of all abilities access the transformative power of the ocean with specially tailored wetsuits.
This year, the Foundation created 70 new adaptive wetsuits with extra zips, toggles, and custom fits for amputees and those with mobility restrictions. They also introduced a free rental model for their most popular adaptations - allowing more people to experience the water while maximising the use of each suit.
The Seasuit Project
Supported by Finisterre, the Foundation provides Seasuits to those who need them most, empowering communities that might otherwise struggle to access the ocean.
In 2024, 86 Seasuits and Hijabs were gifted to individuals and community groups, ensuring full-coverage swimwear for those facing financial barriers - helping more people experience the freedom of the sea.
