British Wool
We're proud to use British wool in a number of our products, bringing the wool production closer to home and championing this traditional form of British agriculture.
We've been sourcing quality British wool to make our products since 2005. Sheep have been reared in the UK for centuries and we are passionate about preserving this local craft that once was at the very heart of the British economy.
Wool supply chains can also be notoriously obscure, so sourcing wool from the UK aids with traceability and transparency, as well as providing peace of mind that there are firm social and animal welfare policies already in place that are diligently enforced.
British Wool In Our Range
The Bowmont Project: Our original attempt to source British wool for our knitwear has turned into a UK supply chain success story. From rescuing the last 28 Bowmont Merino Sheep in existence, we're proud to have worked with Lesley Prior to help her grow her flock to over 300 strong, achieving certification as the first superfine merino grower in the UK. In addition, Lesley's unspinnable waste wool is now sent to our partners at Baabuk to create our coveted British Merino Wool Slippers - reimagining waste as a resource and brought to life by traditional Nepalese artisans.
