I purchased a size 32 and they are loose in the waist, but will work fine with a belt. I'm about 5'2" with a 34" waist and 42" hips, I've generally found that Finisterre bottoms fit much larger than what's in the size chart. Not sure if it has to do with me being petite. Love the material though and excited to use these when it warms up.
