A raw landscape of pine forests and clear flowing waters, Vancouver Island sits off the West Coast of Canada, sheltering the inlets and archipelagos of the Salish Sea.

Congregating in Horseshoe Bay, just north of Vancouver, the Cornish contingent met up with our Canadian crew to make the crossing – eager to explore beneath the canopy that stretched from the island’s shoreline to its summit.

Carrying everything we would need for the trip, the crew made their way to the heart of Vancouver Island, setting up base camp on the shores of Lake Cowichan.

Greeting the day with a morning swim became a ritual, cold water invigorating the spirit in preparation for the day’s adventures...

From days on the shoreline to hikes into the canopy, we ventured from sea to sky clad in uncompromising outerwear to protect us on our passage.

Keeping us outside for longer, comfortable in the conditions.

In awe of the raw beauty of this landscape, and inspired by the abundance of life both above and below the tideline, we left with full hearts, heavy legs and a sense of connection with a place that somehow feels like home every time we visit.

Excited for the coming of autumn and the joys it brings, we set our sights on the season ahead.

Ready to make the most of what’s to come...
