The weight of fleece that you choose will determine its warmth, versatility and your ability to layer it. Lightweight fleeces (100-200gsm) are perfect for layering and provide warmth without bulk on cooler days. Midweight fleece (200-300gsm) is a great all-rounder for variable conditions, providing warmth and breathability for cold climes. Heavyweight fleece (300gsm+) gives maximum insulation against the cold but is bulkier as a mid-layer or under a shell.
