An ancient coastline peppered with hidden coves and rugged headlands, Cornwall’s peninsula offers endless possibilities to connect with the sea.

Meeting Jazz off the train in Penzance, the crew was joined by Siri and immediately headed to the harbour wall to avail themselves of the cool, clear waters. Restored by the immersion we gathered at camp to share stories into the night.

Holly Bendall

From studio to shoreline we spent the day with athlete and artist Holly Bendall – talking about her sculpture work, her reverence for the ocean and how being near it continues to inspire her artistic practice.

“I can't even go a few days without going in the sea. It's like a recharge, a re-balance.”

Holly Bendall, Surfer, Sculptor and Artist

“Whatever the Shipping Forecast means to any given individual, its spell is as strong and seductive as ever.”

Mike Lay, Finisterre Ambassador

Home to tales of shipwrecks and smugglers, of sirens and selkies, we followed the paths west to explore at the very edge of the land.

Guided by Mike’s intimate knowledge of the place that raised him, we explored rugged headlands off the beaten path to find respite from the crowds, with hidden coves waiting to wash away the heat of the day.

Invigorated by the adventure, we donned wetsuits and grabbed boards, sharing waves at the western tip of these land.

United by a love of the ocean and everything it gives us, we set our sights on the season ahead, filled with hope and anticipation for what’s to come...
