Great incarnation of a chore coat

Have reviewed previously in different size, I tried both the medium and large, previously I used to feel medium was my size but now am moving toward large, I’ve not gotten any bigger(!) but I appreciate the extra room in the chest, underarms for comfortable layering, I tried the medium with this item because I saw the suggestion it was roomy and was concerned I might look a bit swamped if it was really over sized but actually I found I could only just button it in the chest, the shoulder seams were a few cms in from my natural shoulder and the armpits felt a bit snug, the large by contrast was perfect, unlike other jackets I’ve tried in materials that don’t stretch this didn’t grab at the elbow when I bent/moved my arms. I really liked the texture and colour of the canvas, I was pleased branding was really minimal after seeing in the past jackets like the Stafford had a 3 or 4” finisterre logo embroidered on the breast (albeit in the same colour as the jacket) this isn’t what I want in a workwear item, to me it should look generic and minimal, now that’s sorted with tiny black label at the seam, you could cut it off if you want to be really uncompromising. I’m not certain about the check lining, it’s nice but it makes the jacket look more like a Barbour wax, I think ideally a chore coat should be unlined as I’d imagine originally it was intended only to protect clothing while working and thus cost/excessive detail was avoided, the lining seems a bit pointless, I can’t…
