Whether surfing, lifeguarding or writing, it is an ever present companion that has shaped his life and career.

Despite being one of the most talented longboarders in the world, forging a path as a free-surfer in modern times is no easy feat; the competition being nearly as fierce as competitive surfing itself. How Mike does this, however, is by being one of the most human and personable people in and out of the water. A curious mind with a passion to better understand and share the environment that has shaped him.
