For reference, I am 53.5kg, 164cm tall, and have a 68.5cm waist, 91.4cm hips and a shorter torso. I bought the size 26R. I prefer wearing high waisted trousers that cover my belly button, and these trousers go beyond it by about 2.5cm, which is quite high. I find that there's still a bit of room at 26" waist and they stretch out slightly throughout wearing cause of the elastane. Depends on how you like it to fit! But trying it in store really helped.
I do have to cuff the hem at least twice as they didn't come in a petite length. I love that the canvas material is soft and comfortable to wear, and the pockets are nice and big. I do have a hard time finding trousers that fit my proportions as I have a bigger bum and a smaller waist - but I love the silhouette of these. They're cinched at the waist and roomy round the hips, then they taper towards the legs. They look very smart!
Keep in mind, I don't have a dryer at home so these air dry. I also wash all black clothing together, so I can't comment on the colour bleeding. Only complaint is the pocket lining tends to flip out, but may just have to tack it down with a few hand stitches.
I think I'd like them in a jean version next!
